Sitting with Big Emotions
We’ve been taught to suppress emotions, shift them, ignore them and yet, all those big emotions stay stuck in our bodies like toxic sludge. I share my own experience and a few simple strategies to help you sit with “big” emotions.
“Wintering” Does Not Mean Hibernating
When we talk about wintering or honoring the rhythm of nature, I often hear this resistance:
“But I still have a job.
A business.
A family.
Responsibilities.”
And you’re right. Most of us don’t have the luxury of hibernation.
Wintering does not mean stopping.
It means softening.
It’s not about doing less.
It’s about doing things differently.
Winter doesn’t ask for major life overhauls.
It asks for small, compassionate adjustments within the life you already have.
